Abstract

Abstract

Background: The high mortality rate of cervical cancer in Indonesia correlates with low public knowledge, leading to delayed detection. The knowledge gap concerning risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of screening serves as a primary barrier to prevention efforts. Therefore, an effective and widely accessible educational intervention is necessary. Methods: This community service activity employed the production and dissemination of a bilingual (Indonesian and English) educational video titled "CERVICAL CANCER". The video was a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, distributed via YouTube and Instagram platforms. The intervention's effectiveness was quantitatively measured using a pre-test and post-test design on a target group of women of childbearing age. Results: The educational video was successfully produced and published, reaching over 12,000 views. The evaluation, conducted via an online form, showed a significant knowledge increase of 82.5%, with the participants' average score rising from 45.3 on the pre-test to 82.7 on the post-test. Conclusion: The educational intervention, in the form of a bilingual educational video, successfully filled the identified knowledge gap within the target group and represents an effective strategy with the potential to reach a broader audience.
